The most critical component of DK GST projects involves locating subsurface utilities and collecting properties associated. To do so, we collect absolute 3D coordinates (x / y / z) of each pipeline, cable, manhole, and various control facilities. Meanwhile we collect attribute information such as materials / shapes, then join both spatial and attribute data. The accuracy of the underground utility DB is essential to reduce the risk of accidents related to facility damage during various constructions, as well as for maintenance. Representative underground utilities include water supply, sewerage, power / communication cables, heating pipes, gas pipes, and communal underground spaces.
When a construction recognizes unexpected obstacles not considered in the design process, there are lots of finishes with arbitrary changes in depths and lengths. If no formal design changes have been made to shorten the construction period, pipes are buried without surveying or drafting, resulting in higher risk of subsequent accidental damages while excavations.
DK GST has not adhered to the conventional instruments and methods, but also constantly monitored the latest technology trends in domestic and abroad. We have hired additional research personnels and invested on instruments and test materials to minimize buried utilities un-detection rate and to increase the level of exploration performance. As a result, more than 90% of the detection rate has been recorded where active locating method available, as well as pinpointing the locations of damage on the pipe coat, which has not been possible.
